Pip Keys, for parents
Pip Keys is a free keyboard game for toddlers. Every key your little one presses brings something to the screen, a voice reads it out and a soft note plays.
- Letters A to Z, each with its own colour and an animal or object: "B. Bear."
- Numbers 0 to 9, shown with that many things to count.
- Pip, a little friend on the hill who hops, talks and dances.
- An alphabet strip that fills in as letters are found, with a party when all 26 are in.
- Nursery songs every few presses: The Wheels on the Bus, If You're Happy and You Know It, Bingo, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Old MacDonald, Row Row Row Your Boat, Mary Had a Little Lamb, London Bridge and The Itsy Bitsy Spider.
- Hidden surprises: Space for fireworks, Enter for a rainbow, arrow keys to walk Pip.
- On a tablet, every tap makes shapes and a note where the finger lands.
Tap "Let's play" first so the browser allows sound, and the game goes full screen. Press Esc to leave full screen. Some system shortcuts can't be blocked by a web page, so stay close by.
Grown-up settings sit behind a press-and-hold button: your child's name, day or night sky, voice, sound, and how often songs play.
No sign-up, no ads, nothing to install. Your child's name stays on your device. Plays are counted without names: keys, songs and minutes, with a random id kept in your browser. IP addresses aren't stored. Page visits are counted by Umami, which uses no cookies and respects Do Not Track.
